How many months old am I?

Your age in months is the number of complete calendar months between your date of birth and today. If another full month has not passed yet, the extra time is shown as remaining days.

For example, someone might be 300 complete months and 12 days old. That is more precise than simply saying 25 years old, but it still follows the calendar rather than treating every month as the same number of days.

Why calendar months need a real date calculation

A month can have 28, 29, 30 or 31 days. That means dividing your total days by 30 cannot give an exact calendar age in months. This calculator moves through real calendar months first and counts the remaining days afterward.

The same rule is used by the main age calculator when it works out years, months and days. The difference here is that your completed years are converted into months too, so you get one total number of complete months.

What happens if I was born near the end of a month?

Month-end birthdays need a consistent rule because not every month has the same final date. If you were born on the 31st and the month being checked has only 30 days, the calculation uses that month’s last valid day. February is handled the same way when it has no matching date.

This keeps the calculation tied to the calendar and avoids pretending that every month is 30 days long.

Age in months for babies and young children

Parents often describe a baby’s age in months because a single year covers a lot of early growth. Saying a child is 14 months old can be clearer than saying a little over one year old.

The calculator works for adults too. It can be fun to see a familiar age in a different scale, especially when you are close to a round number such as 500, 600 or 1,000 months.

Your next whole-month milestone

The result shows the next date on which another complete calendar month will be added to your age. If you are 602 complete months old today, for example, the next milestone is 603 months old.

For larger celebrations, the age milestone calculator finds dates such as your 10,000th or 20,000th day. You can also switch to the age in weeks calculator to see your lifetime in seven-day blocks.

Months, weeks and days measure age differently

Complete months follow calendar boundaries. Weeks always contain seven days. Days simply count each calendar day that has passed. Because those systems work differently, you should not expect a month total multiplied by a fixed number to match your exact days old.

If you want the smallest practical unit on the site right now, the days old calculator counts every calendar day from your birthday to today.

Age in months questions

How do I calculate my age in months?

Enter your date of birth. The calculator counts complete calendar months from your birthday to today, then shows any remaining days.

Is age in months just years multiplied by 12?

Not always. Years multiplied by 12 gives the months in your completed years, but you may also have additional complete months since your last birthday.

How are month-end birthdays handled?

If a matching day does not exist in a shorter month, the calculator uses the last valid day of that month for the calendar comparison.

Does a leap year change my age in months?

Leap years can change the number of days you have lived, but complete calendar months are still counted from month to month.
