Making age calculations a little more fun

Fun Age Calculator starts with accurate date calculations, then lets Una the Unicorn take the numbers somewhere more playful.

Una the Unicorn, mascot for Fun Age Calculator

Meet Una. Una is the site mascot and adds the playful side of Fun Age Calculator after the date math is finished. The calculator results still come first.

What you can calculate here

The main tools answer everyday questions such as how old you are today, how many days you have been alive, when your next birthday falls and how old you were on another date. You can also compare two birth dates, estimate a birth year from an age, find the weekday you were born or calculate your next half birthday.

If you want one unit instead of a calendar age, there are focused calculators for months, weeks, hours, minutes and seconds. The age milestone calculator turns those totals into dates such as 10,000 days or one billion seconds.

The fun side of the site turns the same birthday into dog years, cat years and made-up fantasy ages. Real-world calculations are kept separate from entertainment so it is always clear which is which.

How the real age calculations are handled

Calendar-age tools use actual dates rather than pretending every month has the same number of days. That means month lengths and leap years are part of the calculation. The hours, minutes and seconds tools use elapsed browser time, and they tell you when a missing birth time means the result starts from midnight.

Pages that compare or convert age explain the assumption they use. February 29 birthdays, month-end dates and daylight-saving clock changes are treated as date or elapsed-time questions according to what each calculator is trying to answer.

What is real and what is just for fun

Unicorn, vampire, dragon, elf, fairy and wizard ages are fictional. They use consistent Fun Age Calculator scales so the result is repeatable, but they are entertainment, not science. Dog and cat comparisons are broad life-stage estimates and are not veterinary advice.

Privacy by design

The age calculators run in your browser. Your birthday is not sent to Fun Age Calculator for the calculation. To make related calculators easier to use, your browser can remember the birth date in session storage for the current tab. Closing the tab or using the Forget Birthday control clears that saved date.
